Work with a BUYER’S agent who has a keen understanding of the real estate business and the local market. A buyer’s agent has a fiduciary duty to you. That means that he or she is loyal only to you and is obligated to look out for your best interests. A buyer’s agent can help you find the best home, the best lender, and the best home inspector in your area. Do not mistake a BUYER’S AGENT with a Seller’s Agent. The Sellers, or listing agent, is the agent that represents the property you are looking to buy. Their goal is to get the best price and do what’s in the best interest of the seller, NOT YOU. Making the wrong decisions can end up costing you thousands of dollars!!
Deadly Mistake #3: Getting a cheap inspection or forgoing the inspection.
Buying a home is probably the most expensive purchase you will ever make. The cost of a home inspection is small relative to the value of the home being inspected and compared to the thousands of dollars a proper inspection can save you.
